Meet Ethel

Breed: Barred Rock     Egg Color: Brown

As we looked over our employees during working hours, and after hours, we noticed the most remarkable hen – Ethel. Not only does she meet her egg quota each day with a warm happy cackle, she has become the foster mother to three orphaned guinea fowl. She has taken them under her wing and loves them like her own. When asked about it Ethel says, “I looked at those three precious babies and knew they needed me. I love them daily.” This unlikely quartet have become inseparable and are a model family for the entire farm. One of the other hens commented, “That Ethel, she sure is brave to take on those three noisy teenagers!”
